Breaking Barriers for the Ideal Digital Nursing Network Implementation : A Collaborative Effort The successful implementation of Digital Nursing Network is a collaborative effort involving multiple departments at the hospital . The nursing department streamlines the collection of medical device data , the Information Department designs methods for smart data processing . The Equipment Department coordinates the application of standardised interface protocols across thousands of devices from different manufacturers .
“ Equipment digitalisation has gradually been promoted over the past five years . But previously , purchasing separate devices presented challenges of device isolation and data diversification , requiring manual transcription of patient data ,” says Yong .
In order to give play to the real value of equipment digitalisation in the hospital , Yong ’ s team , together with the Information department , have proposed to establish a standardised structure similar to HIS , where all equipment can be interconnected . “ All equipment that can be connected are supposed to be integrated into our system .”
Li Min , Director of the Information Department , provided a professional overview of the hospital ’ s Digital Nursing Network . This systematic programme primarily operates on the basis of equipment interconnection and data interoperability . Leveraging the hospital ’ s existing eMR system , the technical integration of the three components - medical equipment , data integration platform and nursing record system - is automatically triggered and integrated .
